The Urban Photo Park at Dan's Camera City

Since 1977 Dan’s Camera City has been a business focused on continuously improving and evolving. We have seen our customers desire for more hands-on experiences. We've always had lots of educational classes and demo events here at Dan's, but we felt the need to develop a more convenient way for customers to gain hands-on experience. So with all the land we have available here at Dan's, we created the Urban Photo Park.

The Urban Photo Park encompasses over 45,000 square feet of space, providing enough diverse space for us to accomplish many goals. After discussions with our staff, camera manufacturer representatives and trainers, landscapers, and of course, our customers we have included an array of features.

Life-size cut-outs of athletes and wildlife allow you to see how well different equipment options will meet your specific expectations.
Test charts and panels designed to evaluate the sharpness and focusing performance of cameras and lenses.
A variety of native plants and wildflowers provide a wonderful shooting venue.
Landscaped features create opportunities to capture beautiful outdoor portraits
Birdhouses and feeders draw in colorful feathered subjects.

Lattice panels covered in climbing plants will act as backgrounds for portraits, areas for macro photography.
Photography blinds to capture the various hawks and foxes that tend to nest in the woods at the back of our property.

This is a constantly evolving project as we learn what works well, and what we can improve upon. We do not know of any other purpose-built space such as this in the country, so we have no guide we can work from.
